Kimberly Y. Epps (Kye), Ph. D

It is with deep sadness that I bring you news of Kim’s passing. Kim died unexpectedly on December 7, 2011. Her achievements, since graduating from The Bronx H.S. of Science, are vast. In particular, her research in the Atlantic Forest region of Brazil, one of the most endangered ecosystems on the planet, had the long range goal of contributing to reforestation efforts and the sustainability of local farming communities. Most recently, Kim worked as a Post Doctoral Research Associate in the Department of Environmental Earth System Science at Stanford University.

For those of you who shared in the great opportunity of knowing Kim, please listen now to the echo of your memories. Let your tears feed the ground and the grit of your life; and remember her grace, brilliance, and smile.
